Snow Peas

Most of the fresh peas sold today include sugar snap peas and snow peas.  Snow peas, also called Chinese peas, are entirely edible, bright green, and ideal for stir-frying as they cook evenly. They are not as sweet as the sugar snap pea, but rather they have a very grassy, fresh taste and they are available year-round. They are especially abundant and fresh in the spring and summer.

Crystal Valley has been growing Sugar Snaps, Snows, and English peas since we began and they are some of our core products. We have consistent supply from Guatemala as well as Peru and Mexico and they are available 52 weeks a year.

TIPS FOR SELECTION

Select snow peas that are shiny and flat, with very small peas that are barely visible through the pod.
