French Beans

French beans, also known as ‘haricots verts’, are similar to green beans but have smaller, slimmer pods. In recent years, French beans have gone from being a specialty product found in higher-end restaurants to a beloved, nutritious and delicious veggie for everyday dining at home. Each of our crisp, sweet beans is delicately hand-harvested from our farms in Guatemala, washed, and ready to eat.

TIPS FOR SELECTION

Look for beans that are a deep emerald green color, crisp to the touch and that have smooth skin without any “corrugations”.

HOW TO STORE

French beans can be stored in a plastic bag and refrigerated for several days.

HEALTH BENEFITS

  • Good Source of Fiber, Vitamins C, K, B2 and B6

HOW TO COOK

Green beans can be blanched steamed, or sautéed in a bit of olive oil. Avoid boiling French beans, as they will lose much of their nutrients. Some of our packaging you can even microwave right in the bag!
