Malanga Eddo

Malanga Eddo is a root vegetable whose texture is similar to a potato with a nutty flavor and slippery flesh. It is native to China and Japan but often grown in tropical climates in the Caribbean and Central and South America.

Eddo can be prepared like you would a traditional potato, and roasted, fried, or boiled. It is toxic if eaten raw so make sure to cook it well before eating!

Crystal Valley malanga eddo is available year-round from Costa Rica.

TIPS FOR SELECTION

Look for malanga eddo that is firm, dry, and free of blemishes or soft spots.
