Choose cherries that are firm and red with the stem attached.
Refrigerate unwashed and uncovered.
Rinse cherries with cold water before eating. You will also want to pit the cherry. One method is to use a paring knife and rock it around the entire cherry. Twist the fruit into 2 halves to reveal the pit and remove it.
