Bell Peppers

Bell peppers have a sweet and tangy taste and a wonderfully crisp texture. The main bell pepper colors include green, yellow, orange and red with green peppers being a little less sweet and slightly more bitter than yellow or orange peppers and red bell peppers being the sweetest. They are extremely nutritious and can be eaten raw as part of a crudité or added to stews and casseroles for extra flavor.

Crystal Valley offers bell peppers year-round from Central America and the Caribbean.

TIPS FOR SELECTION

Choose bell peppers that are bright, heavy, and that are firm with a tight skin. Avoid shriveled peppers and peppers with blemishes.
